Our journey so far…
Intercorp was incorporated since 1996 with a focus on providing innovative enterprise digital solutions, and was a pioneer in introducing cutting-edge biometric fingerprint recognition technologies to Singapore businesses in the early 2000s, to digitalise their workplace and workforce management.
An early key adopter was NTUC Fairprice. With more than 160 supermarkets (back then) throughout Singapore with a large workforce, NTUC Fairprice used to have 4 HR personnels who would conduct daily payroll runs, and 4 drivers who would collect punchcards from their supermarkets on a daily basis.
After implementation of our solutions, all data are captured and transferred digitally to their HQ for automated calculations, resulting in saved manpower (4 drivers are relocated to other logistical positions, and 4 HR personnels reduced to 2) and less erroneous payments. The increased productivity and efficiency of Intercorp’s solutions was clear and measurable.
Intercorp rapidly grew its market verticals and were soon entrenched in various other industries, such as retail, F&B, manufacturing, construction, education, tourism and more, counting many renowned companies as its clientele, such as Singapore Post, Takashimaya, Toys’R’Us, ExxonMobil, Golden Village, Raffles Education, MDIS, Curtin University, Sushi Tei, Mr Bean, Frangrance Foods, Lendlease, China Construction, Hitachi, Liebherr, Audi Premium Automobiles, Singapore Zoo, Jurong Bird Park and more.
In mid 2000s, Intercorp’s biometric solutions (BAS-Productivity) and technologies became widely recognised and deployed in Singapore’s construction and build industry, and have been featured in major publications, including being recognised by Singapore’s government agencies, Building Construction Authority (BCA) and Ministry of Manpower (MOM).
In 2015, Intercorp saw the need to upgrade its software to a total cloud-based platform in the form of Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), for higher efficiency, management and distribution. With a SaaS infrastructure, Intercorp suite of solutions can better consolidate fragmented data for big data management, analysis and reports. This vision happen to coincide with Singapore’s Land Transport Authority (“LTA”) line-wide tender for Thomson East Coast Line (“TEL”), a bulk tender for management for 13 islandwide stations.
Leveraging on the strengths of the new SaaS model, coupled with Intercorp’s deep expertise in understanding LTA’s requirements and workflow, Intercorp successfully won subsequent tenders of Circle Line 6 (“CCL6”) and North South Corridor (“NSC”), managing over 33 LTA stations.
Intercorp saw an increasing demand for its products and suite of solutions from overseas markets, and in 2017, started to expand partnership programmes to markets within Asia, such as Malaysia, Vietnam, Philippines, Indonesia, Hong Kong and China. In 2018, Intercorp set up its first overseas office in Chennai, India, to serve the huge India market and its regional demands.
